‘Olly’ the ObjectOpus Octopus
‘Olly’ was created as the mascot for the ObjectOpus. Since the name was similar to ‘octopus’, the choice of a mascot was a given. Olly represents the various facets of Objectivist philosophy as well as to the subject of writing. His two forward tentacles are holding open a book and writing. In his others we see a glass of wine to signify the celebration of living and the enjoyment of the finer things in life, a rose indicating love and things of beauty, a ‘$’ sign representing value and earning and finally the Rand ‘A=A’ to signify reason and existence.
